The Philatelic Society of Ireland is a recent merger of two older societies with lots of history. The DSS (Dublin Stamp Society) was formed in 1948 and the IPS (Irish Philatelic Society) was formed in 1901. Each had its own flavour and uniqueness but, with the passage of time, their objectives became ‘as one’.

The objectives of the Society are to encourage the study and practice of philately and postcards in Ireland and to advance the exchange of information, ideas and education on all aspects thereof.

The PSOI caters for collectors throughout Ireland. We are a diverse group with similar but varied interests. Some members are experts in their field and we are privileged to have them in the Society.

Although based in Dublin, many Country members also join us when they can. We welcome everyone. And everyone will welcome you.

You will find that we are run by an energetic committee.

• Paul Tattersall is our President, with Dermot Casey as Vice-President.
• The Committee is supported by a Treasurer, a Secretary, a Bourse Secretary, and others who manage the Competitions and Trophies.

You can check our Meetings page for more details. In summary, we meet 2/3 times a month, when we have displays, educational nights, competitions and even a quiz night. It’s all fun.
