PSOI Members win BIG at Boston 2026

(a summary of Brian Callan’s Commissioner Report for Boston 2026)

 

The Boston 2026 International show ran from 23-30 May and had over 4,000 frames. Some members of the Philatelic Society of Ireland had a very credible showing which resulted in:

Brian Callan

• Gold – Postal History of County Cork, 1696 to Universal Postal Union
• Gold – British and Irish Telegraph Stamps 1851 to 1901
• Large Vermeil – Irish Postal Stationery 1922 to 1970
• Large Vermeil – Hubert Wilkins – Australian Pole to Pole Pioneer

Alan Farrell

• Large Silver – The Reichspost Hitler Definitives and Postal Stationery, 1941-1945

Brian Harmon

• Large Vermeil – The Vox Hiberniae Airmail Stamps of Ireland

Note that international medals are scored a medal higher than at national level
(eg. an international large vermeil is equivalent to a gold medal at national level).
