Did you know? … that stamp collecting began in the 17^th century. It really took off in the mid-1800s with the issue of the Penny Black in Great Britain and Ireland, the world’s first adhesive postage stamp. Within the next 40 to 50 years most countries around the world had adopted the benefits of postage stamps.

Philately is a hobby that unites people of all ages across the world. Many friends can be made. It is a fantastic way to learn about geography, history and famous people, using miniature art forms.
